Trunnion mounted ball valves work the same way as floating ball valves, but in this case the ball is anchored by a second shaft at the bottom of the shutter, called trunnion. This prevents the ball from moving from its axis. trunnion mounted ball valves can keep proper sealing on both sides at once. This is suitable for 3-way ball valves<\/a><\/strong> or 4-way and valves in very low pressure applications where the flow is not enough to push the ball into its seat downstream.<\/p>\n

These valves are effective in low and high pressure applications, and require less torque than floating ball valves.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Metal seated<\/b><\/p>\n

Metal seats are suitable for corrosive environments and products as well as high temperatures. They are also suitable for solid particles in suspension. Copper alloy, for example, is a suitable material for low pressure valves. Nickel-based alloys are often the ideal choice for corrosive media. Depending on the type of material, these valves can generally withstand tougher conditions than soft seat valves, including acids, heat, abrasives, hydraulic shock, erosion, corrosion and pressure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Metal seated valves are usually more expensive than soft seat valves, but they can also have more leaks than a soft seat valve<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
